Webcast Communicator Firmware or Tech Support

Hi all,

In principle, the WCC box works quite well for us. Certainly much better than our previous multiple slingbox approach.

Recently we’ve found severe problems with audio quality. In parallel with putting oscilloscopes on the in audio-in and evaluating the source sound quality, I’d like to talk to someone who knows about the WCC.

Is there a tech-support person? Is there a F/W upgrade (currently at: Version 1.1, Build: 03032009)?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Having done mult-broadcasts for 15 years, I’m’ happy to talk to anyone who has questions.

Movies where hot guys pull below average girls

We’re just talking about how in movies guys that are pretty average end up with really hot chicks, like Knocked Up, the Hangover, etc.

Are there cases where the opposite is true? My Big Fat Greek Wedding comes to mind.

sleep issue on older machine

Hey ppl,

I moved my older AMD 6000+ machine into our bedroom for the wife to use. When I did I put the old X1950XT 512MB back in it, and a linksys wireless card. everything else stayed the same.

It has an ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe motherboard, 4GB of corsair ram. and windows 7 released home prermium 64bit.

The problem I am having is sometimes when the computer sleeps which I’m using S3 so it basically shuts off but keeps ram powered I think? Anyway MOST of the time its fine, you wiggle the mouse it comes back up instantly

But twice now, I woke up and the video card fan was screaming at 100%, the hard drive light was lit solid and the power light was on solid, the system had to be forced to shut off. Some things in the bios setup also changed such as hard drive sequence, and one time the date reset to default.

The reason I suspect the video card is ATI’s drivers for older cards have been questionable for awhile now, as well as up to a month ago there was a GTX-260 in the same system., and it never had this problem.

ANY opinions or ideas completely welcome. I’m probably going to swap in a new video card in the near future, its just the bios settings being randomly changed has me creeped out. I guess its a tossup between the linksys wireless card with its questionable drivers, which I dont even think I was able to get from linksys, Or the video card.

Skype

My son and I are set up with Skype however I have a couple of questions. How do I alert the other party that I am making a video call? When I click on the “Video Call”, does their phone ring? Do I tell him to turn on his PC and his video camera? On the other hand how will I know if he is trying to make a video call?

Will there be a low profile energy efficient version of the Radeon 5xxx series?

One that doesn’t require a power connector from the PSU and is low profile that it will fit in slimline OEM cases. Is the Radeon 5650 supposed to fill this niche?

Best way to restore MLS data

Hello everyone. I’ve just re-imaged an Optiplex 740 because the computer wouldn’t boot into Windows. I’ve installed everything on it including the latest version of MLS. Before re-imaging the system I removed the hard drive from the PC, hooked it up to an external USB hard drive adapter and copied the MLS folder (and some other data) from the hard drive. This means I have a current copy of the ward’s MLS folder/data. What is the best way to restore it onto the newly re-imaged drive? Copy the MLS folder entirely or just go into MLS and do a restore using the latest backup file?

Budget – Primary 8-11

As the bishop in our ward, I spend time developing the quarterly budget allocation, estimating the year off of the two previous quarters. There is one piece of data that is not included in the unit statistics report that would be helpful in this process. Would it be possible to add the number of primary children 8 -11 to the unit statistics report? This would give all of the data necessary to calculate the budget allocation amount each quarter from two sources – the unit statistics report and the quarterly report and not require my clerk to print separately a custom report for this group.

Thanks.
